Introduction
This course address the skills and knowledge required for those working in the traffic control and traffic management Industry who do not directly undertake temporary traffic management roles on worksites.Target Audience
This course is for individuals who need to know about traffic control and traffic management, but do not perform a traditional traffic management role.
Our learners will complete all of the theory, theory assessment and any simulated assessment, but are not required to complete the post course practical training.
Course Requirements:

Course Requirements:
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Have Language‚ Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills to ACSF level 2 or above
- Bring your own PPE (including steel capped boots, broad brimmed hat, eye protection, gloves, long pants and high visibility shirt / vest / jacket).

Learning Outcomes
- Carry out face-to-face routine communication
- Communicate using communication equipment and systems
- Control traffic with a stop-slow bat
- Control traffic with (and operate) portable traffic control devices
- Clean up work area tools and equipment
- Identify and assess unacceptable risk
- Contribute to the implementation of risk controls
- Plan and prepare to Implement Traffic Management Plans
- Set out and monitor the Traffic Guidance Scheme
- Commission portable traffic control devices
- De-commission and remove portable traffic control devices from site
Learning Methods
The non-practitioner combined Traffic Controller 1 (TC1) and Traffic Management Implementer 1 (TMI 1) course will run over 3 days.
The first 2 days will focus on the theory aspects of the units with the 3rd day being dedicated to the practical application.

Course Modules
Successful participants will receive a Statement of Completion for non-practitioner training. This Statement of Completion will provide the individual with non-practitioner status which excludes the individual from performing the function of a Traffic Controller and Traffic Management Implementer.
