Non-Practitioner TAS TMD 1 (Traffic Management Designer 1) Course
Introduction
This course address the skills and knowledge required for those working in the traffic control and traffic management industry who do not directly undertake temporary traffic management roles on worksites.STUDENTS WILL NOT RECEIVE A STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT (SOA) FOR THIS TRAINING.
Target Audience
This course will provide the individual with non-practitioner status which excludes the individual from performing the function of a Traffic Management Designer.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Have Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills to ACSF level 2 or above.
- Knowledge of Temporary Traffic Management is highly recommended for this course.
- PLEASE NOTE - This course does not provide training in Traffic Management Implementation (TMI) and students who do not have an understanding of TMI may find it difficult to follow.

Learning Outcomes
- Plan and prepare for implementing the risk management process
- Identify workplace hazards and assess
- Assess workplace risks and identify unacceptable risk levels
- Identify potential actions and develop risk controls
- Implement and evaluate risk control
- Audit the risk management process and complete records
- Establish context for traffic management plan and traffic guidance scheme
- Prepare traffic management plans and traffic guidance scheme
- Support and review traffic management plan implementation
Learning Methods
The Traffic Management Designer 1 (TMD 1) course will run over 3 days. Throughout the course‚ theory-based assessments and activities will be completed.
There is a theory assessment, completed on-course, associated with this course.
Course Modules
Successful participants will receive a Statement of Completion for non-practitioner training. This Statement of Completion will provide the individual with non-practitioner status which excludes the individual from performing the function of a Traffic Management Designer.
STUDENTS WILL NOT RECEIVE A STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT (SOA) FOR THIS TRAINING.
