Introduction

This skill set address the skills and knowledge required for those working in the traffic control and traffic management Industry who do not directly undertake temporary traffic management roles on worksites. 

STUDENTS WILL NOT RECEIVE A STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT (SOA) FOR THIS TRAINING. 

Target Audience

This skill set is for individuals who do not directly undertake temporary traffic management roles on worksites but need information of Traffic Management Implementation 1 (TMI 1) on Category 1 roads.

Course Requirements:

  • Have Language‚ Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills to ACSF level 2 or above (not required if previously completed with CivilEdge)
Please bring your own PPE to the course (including steel capped boots‚ broad brimmed hat, eye protection, gloves, long pants and high visibility shirt / vest / jacket).

Learning Outcomes

  • Ensure the work health and safety requirements are adhered to by all

  • Implement traffic management plans on motorways and freeways
  • Set out and monitor traffic guidance scheme for motorways and freeways
  • Close down work activities

Learning Methods

The Traffic Management Implementer 1 (TMI 1) course will run over 2 days. The first day is focussed on the safety and risk aspects and day 2 of the course includes familiarisation with relevant plans and equipment and resources used in traffic management implementation and the set up of one TTM site including the positioning‚ set up and programming of PTCDs, in a simulated environment.
 

Course Modules

Successful participants will receive a Statement of Completion for non-practitioner training. This Statement of Completion will provide the individual with non-practitioner status which excludes the individual from performing the function of a Traffic Management Implementer.
