Introduction

The Blended RPL pathway is designed for participants who already possess extensive knowledge and practical experience in Temporary Traffic Management on Category 1 roads, and need to upskill to the AGTTM skillsets. 

Target Audience

This pathway is designed for individuals with prior knowledge and hands-on experience working in Traffic Control and Traffic Management Implementation on Category 1 roads. It is intended for experienced personnel seeking to upskill to the AGTTM Category 1 skill sets.

Course Requirements:
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Have Language‚ Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills to ACSF level 2 or above
  • Must hold the unit 'CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry' or its equivalent unit. 
  • Provide sufficient evidence to meet all RPL requirements.

  • Communicate using communication equipment and systems
  • Control traffic with a stop-slow bat
  • Control traffic with (and operate) portable traffic control devices
  • Clean up work area tools and equipment
  • Identify and assess unacceptable risk
  • Contribute to the implementation of risk controls
  • Plan and prepare to Implement Traffic Management Plans
  • Set out and monitor the Traffic Guidance Scheme
  • Commission portable traffic control devices
  • De-commission and remove portable traffic control devices from site

Learning Methods

The TC1 - TMI1 Blended RPL pathway has been developed for individuals with existing experience working as a Traffic Controller (TC) and Traffic Management Implementation (TMI) on Category 1 roads. 
Delivered over 2 days, this course is designed to advance participants' skills by covering current updates, changes, and best practices in Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) since they last obtained their TC and TMI credentials. Each day focuses on targeted learning content and the completion of the theory assessment components required for the units.
