VIC Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Evidence & Support Session
Introduction
This session is for students who are applying for RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) for the Temporary Traffic Management National Training Framework (TTMNF) - Traffic Control and Traffic Management Implementation Skill Sets. It is to assist them in understanding the RPL process, completing an RPL kit and suggestion as to what evidence needs to be provided.THE COST OF THIS SESSION WILL BE DEDCUTED FROM THE COURSE COST IF RPL IS BOOKED WITH CIVILEDGE.
Target Audience
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process that assesses a learner's competency‚ acquired through formal and informal learning, to determine if they meet the requirements for a unit of study. RPL recognises skills, knowledge and/or experience an individual has gained within and/or outside the formal education and training system and assesses how they meet the requirements for a unit of competency within an approved skill set.
RPL is not inherently easy, so CivilEdge are providing a day to assist with RPL kits completion, what evidence and documents are required and what gaps in training students may have.

The RPL Application Process
- Initial discussion with your RTO, this is to answer any questions you may have about the RPL process and for the assessor to determine if you are eligible to apply for RPL.
- Book in to, and attend, a CivilEdge RPL Evidence & Support Session
- Locate evidence of your workplace (practical) experience and formal/informal training.
- Finalise and submit the RPL Application.
- Your assessor will review your application and evidence and, if required, will call you to clarify/discuss further.
- Book in the required RPL assessment session for the skillset you require (you are required to have a conversation with a trainer and complete a theory assessment). This is separate to the RPL Evidence & Support Session.
