The Role of a CivilEdge Trainer
As a trainer at CivilEdge, you will have the opportunity to shape the future workforce by delivering training that equips students with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in their careers. Your role will involve:
- Training Delivery: Deliver and coordinate training in accordance with RTO and client requirements, using methods that progressively develop learners’ knowledge and skills. Create an environment that supports and encourages equitable treatment and behaviour from all learners and contributors.
- Individual Focus: Deliver services that focus on identifying and meeting learners’ individual needs. Perform duties in an ethical and professional manner that supports an inclusive environment free from discrimination and harassment.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments on training sites before training commences in accordance with the RTO’s policies and procedures.
- Session Planning: Plan training and assessment sessions to ensure the required resources are available to support delivery.
- Recognition of Prior Learning: Complete Recognition of Prior Learning following any RTO or jurisdiction/governance guidelines.
- Assessment Conduct: Conduct assessments in accordance with principles of assessment, rules of evidence, and the designated assessment strategy.
- Training Gap Analysis: Determine training gaps between desired and actual performance of students.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the RTO’s systematic approach to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for improvement and acting responsively to implement agreed improvements.
- Moderation and Validation: Participate in RTO assessment moderation and validation activities to promote fair and reliable assessment and maintain alignment with industry expectations and training package requirements.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise in the review of training materials and recommend developments and improvements.
- Team Support: Provide support for the broader RTO team as required.

General Key Requirements
To be successful as a trainer you must have:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent
- Vocational experience in the appropriate discipline(s) to meet assessor requirements
- A strong track record of reliability and professional training
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer literacy
- Knowledge of and commitment to RTO compliance requirements
